Oat Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

I’ve been procrastinating writing the blog for this week, usually my goal is to write it by Wed. so whether you live in Iran or here in the States, you can have it for your weekend…nope….not this week, I’ve been so busy getting the business off the ground, applying for the farmers’ markets, meeting different people to see if I can sell my pastries at their shops, and of course the fun part is all the baking that I do everyday.

Anyway, at the beginning of the week, I promised that I post the recipe for the dog biscuit I baked earlier this week. We got to take care of our tail wagging friends who brings us joy and makes us smile 🙂 right? My niece, Mahroo from Noghlemey, gave me a recipe books for doggie biscuits & treats that I absolutely love and use the recipes all the time. The book is called Organic dog biscuit cookbook. If you baked this recipe, please post photos of your cookies & your dogs on ZoZobaking Instagram.

Oat Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

Yields: 20-30 pieces                            Bake time: 18-20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup Oat Flour
  • 1 1/2 cup Rice Flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cups rolled oats (old-fashioned kind)
  • 1 cup finely chopped peanuts (unsalted)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup safflower oil (I used sunflower oil)
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter (unsalted)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Process:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree
  2. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients together and mix well
  3. In the book says to roll into small balls (about 1″ in diameter) and place on a ungreased cookie sheet and Press them to a flat disk.
  4. When you’re placing the cookies on the tray, they can be close together as they won’t spread while baking.
  5. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool completely on a wire rack and store at room temperature in a covered containers.
  6. I usually make some in the ball shapes and freeze them, then thaw them out for two hours before baking, that way she always have fresh cookies :)
